Any acceleration stronger than letting my foot off the brakes will squeal these tires. Dry or wet, these cannot keep traction. The only thing these tires are good for is burnouts. A Mazda 3 should not be able to spin tires in 3rd, but these can spin no problem. These will hydroplane at speeds as low as 30mph, even in light rain. Snow? Forget about it. In a light snow, it took over 150 feet to stop from 10mph. I will not be buying these again.
My SVT originally came with Goodyear Eagle tires (adequate). Since then, I have used a few other brands - but nothing prepared me for how I would feel once I installed a set of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires! A friend of mine - who's a die-hard Michelin fan - convinced me to install a set of these after a sidewall blowout necessitated my replacing all four previous tires. I am left wondering why Ford didn't install a Michelin from Day 1! I have always been a rather, ah, spirited driver - yet was always a bit nervous when pushing the SVT to what I thought were its limits. After installing these (and being impressed with how little weight they took to balance compared to all the other brands I've used), and scrubbing them in for the first fifty miles - well, there are some corners and twists that I've now added about 15-20 mph to when I take them; the car seemingly goads me when these same roads are wet by saying, "Really? Are you sure? Why don't you go back, add 10 mph, and lets try that again...and then add another 10...c'mon..." These are - far and away - the best and finest tires I HAVE EVER OWNED. Grips in dry; grips in wet; good in 2-3" of snow; QUIET; smooth rolling. Michelin from now on for all my vehicles - especially these Pilot Sport A/S 3's!!
I purchased these tires after debating for a long time about which tire to get. I am completely 100% satisfied with these tires!!! They keep traction amazingly and I have yet to fully spin in any gear with around 450hp to the wheels.
The most overrated and overpriced tire out there. They are ok, but there are so many better and less expensive options.
Quality Expected!
These tires are terrible in the snow. I had them on for the Blizzard of 2015 and felt very unsafe. The traction is awful. They are the worse tires I have ever had in the snow. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Road handling very good, and road noise much improved over previous tires.
When I purchased the car, it had very aggressive low-profile tires on it. It rode harshly, and the very first thing I did was take it to a shop for new Michelins! I chose the Pilot Sports A/S's because they were highly recommended and gave a longer warranty than the even more sporty Pilots offered. What a difference! The car rode so smoothly and felt brand-new. The tires are extremely grippy but give a much more smooth and supple ride - far less jarring than the tires that were previously on the car. Being a non-sport-package car, I wanted tires that gave excellent performance but would also make the car as comfortable as possible, while lasting at least 40,000 miles. I'm very pleased with these tires and would buy them again.
Highly recommend these tires.
Great tire. Very quick.
Great tire...my only complaint is Michelin stopped the $70 dollar rebate just before my purchase on 6-25-14. Now I see the rebate is available again! Just my luck!
Fantastic tire. I have about 10K miles on these tires and they seem to be wearing very good. I was looking forward to the corning of these tires and I instantly noticed great corning. My concern was how they were going to wear. As stated above, so far so good. The only downside is that they are a little bit more noisy than the MXMs that came on the car. Definitely would buy again.
LOVE these tires! So far I've driven 10K KM on them and the A/S 3 are amazing! Second set of Michelin's and they are worth the $$$. Smooth, quiet, stick, and more.
Very good in wet conditions.
These tires are simply amazing. They combine the dry grip of a track tire with the tread wear of an all season. The turn in is sharp and crisp. Once the load has been transferred, the mid corner stability is great and the car is easy to control. Translation: This is a great tire for difficult on/off ramp transitions and highways that have curves that make you feel uneasy. It will increase driver confidence and provide a great margin of error for newer drivers.
Awesome!! Brought life back to our sport sedan.
My A6 is a Prestige with 19" Sport Package. It came with Eagle F1 summer tires, which are surprisingly good. I debated getting winters, but decided instead to get these all season tires and leave them on all year. Dry handling is phenomenal with them and the car turns in almost too well. Feels razor sharp for all seasons. I have a couple issues. These aren't the best choice for snow traction. I got through this record winter OK but it was mostly due to the fact that A6s are tanks on snow. I've heard that these tires will wear out fast if you push them all the time. I don't. We'll see.
Will buy again.
Awesome all-season performance tires. Best in the market. Great for wet conditions, especially compared to my last tires (Bridgestone Potenza 960).
The shop went out of their way to help me when I blew out a runflat tire. They loaned me a tire to use while they ordered one for me. The crew did a great job for me.
I simply love them.
good tires
The traction is excellent in dry or wet conditions. I was concerned much more for its wet traction and it seems to grip the road very well (despite my modest 4 star rating for wet traction/hydro resistance). I feel confident taking corners and the car feels stable, even in rainy conditions. The tires produce a good amount of road noise, but for the grip and peace of mind, I can live with that.
Worst tire I have ever used in snow. Certainly not an all season tire. Getting Blizzaks for winter. These will be the last Michelins for my cars.
I've bought two full sets of these tires to run on my '04 325xi, and they served me well on NJ roadways year round for over 50k miles each set. These are a great combo for slightly-spirited driving year round, and perform superbly in all weather conditions on my AWD e46. If I had not sold the Xi, I would most likely be running ANOTHER set of these tires. Money well spent each time.
